This morning we walked around York. York is a really interesting city, surrounded by medieval walls which are the longest set of walls in England. We walked all over the city center, exploring the shopping areas and all of the old buildings around it. We walked through the famous Shambles, saw the Tower and the York Minster. There is so much history all over the place, I just wish we had a little more time. We did manage to grab lunch at a little restaurant called The Source, which was a really great find. I'd recommend it if you find yourself in York.
After lunch we were back on the road to Liverpool. We are staying right on the Albert dock and the hotel has a very unique set up because it was once a warehouse which they have converted into a hotel.
Once we settled in, we decided to head to dinner at Mowgli, an Indian restaurant recommended by one of our waitresses in Bath. It was a lovely walk along the dock looking out at the River Mersey. Along the walk we talked about all of the things we are going to see tomorrow. Dinner was really delicious!! A great place to eat.
After dinner I took dad around Liverpool One and we walked up to the Lime Street Train Station and St. George's Hall. Liverpool is such a great city to walk around. As we walked back to the hotel, we started to hear people singing and performing in the bars. We're excited for tomorrow's adventure!
